Timil Patel has been announced captain of the team, with Karan Ganash his vicecaptain.A right handed batsman who bowls leg spin, Patel has played at the elite level with the Indian under 19 team where Robin Singh was also the coach. “Being named the captain of the USA is an enormous honor and I am grateful to USACA for this opportunity. We have a young team who are determined to do well and win the Auty Cup back for the US”.

Patel was part of the team that competed in the 2012 Auty Cup and is committed to leading by example; “Last year it was very difficult losing to Canada. I have been working hard in the lead up to this year’s competition and I hope to lead by example. Robin is a very tactical coach and demands the best out of the players. As captain, I intend to assist him to ensure that our players understand our roles and that on the field, we work as a unit. I am really looking forward to the challenge”.

The Auty Cup final squad to represent the USA is;

Timil Patel (Captain)
Karan Ganesh (Vice Captain)
Akeem Dodson
Nicholas Standford
Timothy Surajbally
Ravi Timbawala
Ryan Corns
Abhimanyu Rajp
Daniel Ahmed
Steven Taylor
Mital Patel
Adrian Gordon
Usman Rehman
Naseer Jamali

USA National Coach Mr. Robin Singh was pleased with today’s announcement; “I expect the USA team to be very competitive and give a really good account of ourselves during the Auty Cup. I am hopeful of some great performances from our captain Timil Patel and our vice-captain Karan Ganesh, as well as Daniel Ahmed, Tim Surajbally and all the seamers in the team.

Team USA will have quite a fight from the home team as Canada isn't ready to let go of the Auty Cup that easily. Singh admits that the competition won't be easy; "Canada is playing in their home conditions and in the recent past they have played more competitive cricket with international teams. They aren't going to be easy to beat in Toronto. We are going in as the ‘underdog’, but if we can implement the game plan and stick to it when the pressure is on, I am confident that we can win."

Team USA will arrive in Canada on July 24th.
