ROGERS CENTRE IS SET TO HOST INTERNATIONAL CRICKET AGAIN

Twenty three years after cricket history was made in Toronto a local promoter is looking to make the magic happen again.

Cricket Canada is pleased to announce that Kat Rose Inc., a Toronto based event promoter has been sanctioned by Cricket Canada to host an international T20 Cricket Match in Toronto. The match, which will feature Canadian and high profile international cricketers, is tentatively scheduled for late spring at Roger's Centre, and will include a cultural and entertainment show as part of the day.

President Ranjit Saini, was upbeat about the event saying,

"We can confirm we have granted Kat Rose a provisional sanction for this event and we are excited about its prospects...Should the event come about, the proceeds from the event will be donated to Cricket Canada's Capital Infrastructure Fund. We expect some exciting news shortly from Kat Rose about the event and will continue to participate in its development over the next several months

Cricket Canada's Infrastructure Fund was used recently to lay down Turf Wickets in Alberta and BC as well as upgrade the facilities at. Ross Lord Park. Saini also had some exciting news for Cricket Fans about the next project that Cricket Canada is looking to develop.

"We can confirm that the donations to the Infranstructure Fund will go to fund the development of a dedicated home ground for Cricket Canada.  The Cricket Canada Home Ground Project is beginning to take shape and we are excited about its prospects."

Canadian players are expected to play for one of the sides along with international selects. Kat Rose Inc. is currently in the process of announcing a head selector and coaches for both teams.
