On Day 1 of the CIBC National Cricket League, the Western Stallions have produced a dominating perfomance over the Ashish Bagai led Eastern Fury.  Batting first the Stallions registered an imposing 272 run total on the back of a Parveen Saroye century (102*) and strong middle order contributions from Hamza Tariq (43 from 48) and Usman Limbada (57 from 74).  In response the Fury batsmen were pegged back with regularity by a seam attack led by Canadian opener Henry Osinder (3-16) and his battery mate, Stallions skipper Khurram Chohan (1-8).  Parth Desai (3-5) continued the assault with which decimiated the middle order leaving the Fury in shambles.  In the end the Eastern Fury scrapped to 93 runs (27.4 overs) leaving them well short of the required total.

In other action, Rizwan Cheema and the Central Shield held their nerve against Hiral Patel and the Prairie Fire.  Batting first, the Fire ammased a sub par total of 124 with the only noteable batting resistance coming from Winnipeg's Jatinder Mathuru (35 from 43). The lions share of damage came from the arms of Kenny Kamyuka (3-13) and Cecil Pervez (5-23).

In reply, the Central Shield reached the total with some difficulty registering a 2 wicket win.
