Snow Day in Calgary

Meralomas and Wicket Maidens Win Big in Calgary
July 3, 2011

Jonathan Snow produced a gusty half-century pulling his club from the brink of disaster to deliver a John Ross Robertson championship for Meraloma's Cricket Club.

Set to chase 204 by Crown Cricket Club (Calgary), Meraloma's were reduced to 100-6 and on the ropes. Snow shared partnerships with the tail, batting sensibly and farming the strike for his 90* as Meraloma's got over the line in dramatic fashion in the penultimate ball of the match.

Also in Calgary, the Wicket Maiden's from BC won the Western Canadian Women's Championship putting up comfortable wins in both matches in the tournament . Edmonton were the runners up with hosts Calgary coming in third place.
