Requirements:

Register by e-mail or telephone before the date above stating the level of examination that you wish to sit.  See below for the only method of registration. Persons who fail to register may not be allowed to sit the examination.

Candidates for the Intermediate Umpire, Qualified Umpire, and Qualified Scorer certificates must bring their own calculators for Last Hour calculations and also bring D/L sheets and resource tables. Cell phones are not allowed in the room.

Candidates may only attempt more than one Cricket Canada umpiring examination and more than one Cricket Canada scoring examination in any calendar year (Jan. 1 to Dec. 31) if they are successful in the first examination.

Provisional Umpire examination (Level 1). Start time 9:00 a.m.

Candidates must demonstrate a reasonably good knowledge of the current MCC Laws (Part A) and the basic ICC Standard Playing Conditions (Part B) for limited overs matches.  To increase the chance of success in this examination, candidates are very strongly advised to study both "Tom Smith's New Cricket Umpiring and Scoring" current version ISBN 978-0-297-86641-1 and the current (October 2012) ICC rules for limited overs matches. This qualification normally expires after five seasons. The examination lasts for one hour. Minimum age 12 years.*  Pass mark 70% in Part A and 70% in part B. Fee: $10.

Intermediate Umpire examination (Level 2). Start time 10:00 a.m.
Candidates must demonstrate a very good knowledge of the MCC Laws (Part A) and the ICC Standard Playing Conditions for limited overs matches including the manual Duckworth/Lewis method (Part B).Candidates must pass both Part A and Part B. The examination lasts for two-and-a-half hours. Pass mark 75%. Fee: $12.

Qualified Umpire (Level 3). Start time 10:00 a.m.
Candidates must demonstrate an excellent knowledge of the MCC Laws (Part A) including LBW and the ICC Standard Playing Conditions for limited overs matches including the Duckworth/Lewis method (Part B).The examination lasts for three hours. Some answers to the questions require detailed explanations. Candidates must pass both Parts A and B and the LBW questions. Cricket Canada Qualified Umpires are capable of standing in any cricket  match up to the national level. Pass mark 80%. Fee: $12. This qualification requires successful on-field assessments by umpires appointed by CricketCanada.

Provisional Scorer examination. Start time 9:00 a.m.
Minimum age 12 years.* Candidates must demonstrate a reasonably good knowledge of the current MCC Laws and the ICC Standard Playing Conditions for limited overs matches as they concern scorers. . Qualified Scorer examination.  Start time 10:00 a.m.
Candidates must demonstrate an excellent knowledge of the MCC Laws and Test match playing conditions (Part A) and the ICC Standard Playing Conditions for limited overs matches, including the manual Duckworth/Lewis method and bonus point calculation (Part B), as they concern scorers. A score sheet is provided for Part C. The examination lasts for three hours. Candidates are expected to pass Parts A, B and C. This qualification normally expires after five seasons. Pass mark 80%. Fee: $12.
