With sadness, Cricket Canada regrets to inform that former Canadian Captain Cecil Marshall passed away this week. 
Below is the announcement as posted in the local newspaper. 

Died peacefully at his home, after a prolonged illness, on Saturday 10th in the care and comfort of his family. He is survived by his 3 children Kathleen Callender, Lisa Marshall and Dr. Peter Marshall, sons in law Andrew Callender and John Bedward, daughter in law Tia Marshall and grand children Matthew Callender, Makenna Marshall and Alyssa and Aliyah Moore and former wife Helen Prince. Cecil's brothers Lennard and Desmond Marshall, sisters Ena Griffith, Yvonne West, Mavis Marshall-Adedeji and Bernice Marshall including several treasured nieces and nephews also mourn his passing.The family is eternally grateful to the many caring friends who contributed to keeping Cecil comfortable,offered kinds words and support, during what was a very difficult time, these include Merle Solomon (Mother of Dr. Peter Marshall) and Pascale Gareau. Cecil is best remembered for his love, passion and dedication to cricket, a game that brought him immense joy and one he had a mastery of and could recall key cricketing milestones and achievements with ease. His fondest memories include representing Canada at the Prudential Cup in 1979, captaining the Canadian team at ICC tournament in England seeing Brian Lara achieve his world test record and anticipating the summer cricket season at the Governor Generals ground in Ottawa for his club. Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday September 14th at 11:00am at the Good Shepherd Church, 3092 Innes Road, Gloucester. Immediately followed by an internment in Montreal at the Mount Royal Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at
