A lacklustre effort on either side of the ball has left Canada in a deep hole at the World Twenty20 qualifier in Abu Dhabi today. Batting first and putting up a small total of 137-6, Canada were forced to defend hard but could not pick up enough wickets to stunt the USA charge. Defending 24 off the last 2 overs, the USA chipped away at the total to win the game with one ball to spare.

Canada take on Ireland tomorrow.
