On Monday September 5th. 2011 cricket history was made when the two top women's cricket teams in the T&D cricket league faced off against each other in the first ever all women's league cricket final in Canada.

The match was witnessed by the President of Cricket Canada, Mr. Ranjit Sani, Canadian national women's cricket coach Mr.George Codrington, the CEO of the Toronto CricketResource Group Mr. Ken Jeffers, former CEO of Cricket Canada Mr. Chandra Gokool, a national cricket coach of Dominica Willie Williams ( on vacation ), Mr. Kelvin Padmore ( community radio host ) and many media houses and dozens of spectators.

Kaisoca ladies won the toss and opted to bat scoring 104 runs in 35 overs with skipperDurryia Shabbir scoring 31 runs and Mahwish Khan contributing 15 runs.

Superstars at their turn to bat had problems with the swing bowling of the Kaisocaopening bowlers and were all out for 33 runs. Top scoring for Superstars was Nicole Gallagher with 10 runs. Kaisoca opening bowlers Lorraine Kenton picked up 5 wickets for 14 runs and Mahwish Khan 3 wickets for 20 runs. Off spinner Hala Azmat captured 2 wickets for 1 run.

The ' George Maharaj Challenge Trophy ' as well as medals to both teams were presented by the executives of cricket in Canada who were present.

This effort would not have been possible without the assistance of ICC Americas, Cricket Canada and most of all The Toronto and District Cricket Association.

With the success of this year's attempt at forming this cricket league for women in Ontario, it is expected that the league will be expanded to 10 teams for 2012.
