At the end of the Canada vs UAE Intercontinental Cup fixure on Sunday, Cricket Canada head coach Gus Logie offered the following comments in summary Canada's performance and looking ahead to WCL 50 over and CIBC International T20 fixtures this week:

"After a rained out first day and only limited play possible on the second, it was a credit to the ground-staff for providing us with two and a bit days of cricket which Canada made the most off.

Securing first innings points on the heels of brilliant bowling and fielding to restrict the UAE for 116 was a joy to watch, and following that with brilliant batting to set up an improbable win made for a very competent performance from the Canada team.

Credit to all the players involve and those that made hundreds and taken wickets, In the end we did not achieve our goal of an outright win, but we would have done our confidence a world of good going into the ODI phase of the tournament.

We expect to continue our form and take a high level of confidence into the rest of this series." - GUS LOGIE
