It was an intimate affair for those who enjoyed the pleasant Victoria Day evening at Toronto Cricket Club to attend a special event co-presentation of “An Evening with Haroon Lorgat” by Cricket Canada and World Cricket Weekly.

The nearly sixty guests were treated to an introspective discussion between the outgoing International Cricket Council Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat and broadcast veteran and World Cricket Weekly host Nigel Reed.

The “Inside the Actor’s Studio” style setting allowed the well researched and well prepared host to engage with Mr. Lorgat in an intellectual discussion that spanned from his experiences in primary school as a young South African Indian during the Apartheid era to his legacy as cricket’s top man during a period of strong global growth and high performance.

Full video coverage was provided by World Cricket Weekly with highlights to air on gocricketgocanada.com and Cricket Canada TV in the coming month.

During the evening, Cricket Canada’s Womens team were deservingly recognized for their achievement in winning the ICC Americas Women’s T20 Championship and earning a spot in the ICC Women’s World T20 Qualifiers later this year.

Noteable guests included Cricket Canada President Ravin Moorthy, CEO Doug Hannum, Secretary Calvin Clarke, Operations Officer Ingleton Liburd, players representative Zubin Surkari, and Canadian Men’s Captain Rizwan Cheema.

ICC Regional Development Manager Martin Vieira, Ontario Premier League organizer Ranjit Saini, and Ontario Cricket Council representative Leslie Soobrian were also on hand.
