CRICKET CANADA UNVEILS MAJOR DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE

Cricket Canada is looking for motivated, passionate and skilled cricketers with a keen interest in coaching to puruse the goals laid out in the 2011 Strategic plan.
Cricket Canada, in association wtih ICC America's will be offering the ICC Level 1 Cricket Coaching Certification Course in Toronto September 23-25th, 2011.
The offering is the first in a series of initiatives to support Cricket Canada's strategic plan that was released earlier this year. Cricket Canada will be looking to certify as many coaches across Canada on an annual basis. In 2012, the Level 2 course will be offered in conjunction with the West Indies Cricket Board benchmarking Cricket Canada's courses against a top FM international standard.
Positions are being offered in the first course to provinces on the basis of georgraphic and demographic criteria. In accordance with Cricket Canada's goal's laid out in the strategic plan, 6 regional and 20 area coaches will be certified to support and train regional squads in all of our programs.
In 2012 Cricket Canada's selectors will also be certfied to level 2 in accordance wtih the strategic plans selection criteria and the entire senior selection panel will also partake in this course.
Cricket Canada is currently in the process of engaging an expert to develop Cricket Canada coaching system that will achieve NCCP and ICC approval. A common curriculum will be developed for Cricket Canada coaches to follow and a process for approved academy certification will also be introduced. Persons participating in the current course would need to take required NCCP courses thru their local coaching association in the Province of their residence.
Candidates with proven cricket credentials and a keen interest in pursuing cricket coaching are encouraged to apply. Should positions not be available for the upcoming course, candidates will be wait-listed for the next set of courses to be offered in the coming months.
