CRICKET CANADA & SPORTSNET TEAM UP FOR CT20
Cricket Canada is pleased to announce Rogers Sportsnet as the exclusive media partner for the Caribbean T20 in Canada. Sportsnet will join existing corporate sponsors Teacher's Scotch Whiskey & Apollo Convention Centre as tournament partners for the event.
"To be able to put our (players) on a stage where over 5 million Canadians have the opportunity to watch them play is a major achievement for the organization and our growing sports brand." Moorthy continued, "Cricket has never had this level of exposure in the country and we will continue to push the sport into the mainstream of Canadian sporting conciousness."
In addition to broadcasting the tournament, the Sportsnet logo will appear front and centre on Canadian team playing jersey's and caps.
A complete broadcast schedule will be available on Sportsnet.ca/cricket/ with promotional spots already running on OMNI and the Sportsnet suite of channels.
Cricket Canada will also launch its new 2012 promotional campain entitled "Represent the RED" during the CT20 broadcasts. The commercial series of six parts will feature the stories of Hamza Tairq, Henry Osinde, Hiral Patel, Jimmy Hansra, Harvir Baidwan, and Rizwan Cheema. Canada starts off its campaign in Group A with a match on Wednesday January 11th vs Winward Islands at 3:00pm ET.
