CRICKET CANADA | MONTY DESAI JOINS COACHING STAFF

RAJASTAN ROYALS HEAD COACH PROVIDES BOOST

Monty Desai, the head coach of the Rajasthan Royals of the IPL has joined Cricket Canada as a consultant coach ahead of the T20 Cricket World Cup qualification tournament in UAE. 

Desai comes to Cricket Canada courtesy of the World Cricket Academy  where he worked with Canada's team ahead of the 2011 Cricket World Cup. In addition to being head coach of the Royals, Desai has worked with several English counties as well as the MCC and Australia's NSW University. 

Canada's coach Michael Dighton is one of many international coaches that Desai has consulted to. Andy Flower, Alan Butcher, John Childs, Graham Gooch, John Emburey, Pubudu Dassanayake, and Jonty Rodes have all worked with Monty in the past. 

Monty's appointment is for the duration of the qualification tournament which begins on March 13th vs. Netherlands.
