Canada made it a clean sweep at the ICC America's T20 Championships in Florida on Saturday brushing aside a spirited Suriname team. Showing no let down after defeating the USA in a big match on Friday, Canada ammassed a total of 138-4 led by a brilliant batting display by Khushroo Wadia (75*). Wadia and Parveen Saroye (35) put on 87 runs for the second wicket to set the stage for the match winning total.
In reply, Suriname were never able to get going, Satsmaranjit Dhindsa (2-8) set them back and a chase never really materialized. Suriname ended the match on 77-7 in 20 overs.
Canada were by far the class of the tournament and while not much was known about the young squad that went to the tournament, the depth of talent right across the country was showcased this week in Florida.
