CCO LAUNCHES U17 DEVELOPMENT TOUR TO INDIA
Cricket Council of Ontario (CCO) in association with Cricket Canada and World Cricket Academy (WCA) is pleased to announce the 2011 u17 development tour of India The tour is tentatively scheduled from March 10 thru March 24h 2012, coinciding with the March school break.
The focus of the tour would be to develop advanced cricket skills and developing sound habits for a healthy life style and productive life. The tour program has been specially designed for Cricket Canada by the coaches at the WCA. The WCA, which hosted Canada prior to the 2011 Cricket World Cup is renowned the world over for developing high performance cricket athletes. Several WCA coaches have been working with the IPL’s Rajasthan Royals as well as other high performance programs around the world.
The tour will be managed by Dr. Sameer Bhagirathi. Dr. Bhagirathi is an experienced cricket coach with a doctorate in Physical Education. Dr. Sameer will be assisted by Cricket Canada’s Cricket Operation Officer Ingleton Liburd and Cricket Council of Ontario Coach Mukesh Narula in the organisation and monitoring of the tour related activities.
The tour is being offered as user pay basis but has been heavily subsidized to support maximum participation. The spaces are limited to 15 and are open to members of all Cricket Canada and its affiliated organizations.. In an effort to assist in the development of the America’s region, CCO will also consider candidates from other countries. Players from outside Canada should have their home board contact Cricket Canada for further information. The discounted cost of the tour is $2560 per participant and includes return airfare from Toronto to Nagpur, shared accommodation, meals and drinks, local transport and training.
Interested candidates must complete the on line applications form on or before Feb 14, 2012 to be considered for the tour. Parental/Guardian consent will be necessary and will be verified before the tour. A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 is required either by a certified Cheque/money order made in favour of Cricket Council of Ontario or by credit card by clicking here on or before Feb 14. 2012.
All participants will be responsible to obtain their own travel documents for the tour. CCO/WCA will provide the necessary invitation letter if necessary to facilitate the application for an Indian Visa.
The tour is tentative and subject to change. All deposits shall be returned should the tour not progress as scheduled.
