CCCC Mayor's Cricket Festival
Corporate Canada Cricket Club (CCCC) is hosting its first of three annual Mayor's Cricket Festival in Ajax, Ontario on Saturday, July 30.
The festival will have three corporate teams from BMO, CIBC, and Loblaw participating to win the coveted Ajax Mayor's Cricket Trophy. In partnership with Cricket Canada, the Heart and Stroke Foundation (H&SF) and Canadian Cancer Society (CCS), CCCC will donate funds raised to these two charities.Cricket is the fastest growing sport after soccer in the Greater Toronto Area and CCCC is pioneer in establishing Corporate Cricket in Canada and promoting junior cricket in partnership with Durham Cricket Academy and Qasra Sports.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket World Cup is the premier international championship of men's One Day International (ODI) cricket and is the world's third largest (with only the FIFA World Cup and the Summer Olympics exceeding it), being televised in over 200 countries to over 2.2 billion television viewers. Television rights, mainly for the 2011 and 2015 World Cup were sold for over US$1.1 billion, and sponsorship rights were sold for a further US$500 million. The International Cricket Council (ICC), which has its headquarters in Dubai, UAE, is the international governing body of cricket and it has 104 members: 10 Full Members that play official Test matches, 34 Associate Members, and 60 Affiliate Members; Canada is an Associate Member since 1968.
