Canada's Women's team have opened their account at the ICC America's T20 Championship in the Cayman Islands with a win over Brazil.

The favoured Canadians we led with the bat of Durriya Shabbir and her 53 ball 63 run performance which set the table for a mamoth t20 score of 181/3.  Other noteable batting contributions came from Canadian opener Maree WIlson (21) and Joanna White (31*).

The Braziliian reply was stunted by an efficient and effective Canadian bowling attack that kept the target well out of reach and they crumbled to 55 for 8 from 20 overs.

Canada continues today with a match vs North American rivals Bermuda.
