CANADIAN WOMEN CLAIM REGIONAL PRIZE
An unusual occurrence in Paradise - all day rain ruined the final day's play at the T20 Americas Women Championship in the Cayman Islands.
Heavy overnight and morning rain left the Smith Road Oval under water where the South Americans, Brazil and Argentina, were scheduled to play.
The morning rain cancelled the scheduled game between Bermuda and host Cayman Island who were prepared to do battle for 4th place.
Hopes were slim for even a minimum over match in the afternoon between USA and Canada. At 4.00 pm an inspection was made and the bad news came, no play, wet grounds.
Canada became champions as per the tournament rules with the better net run rate.
The USA settled for the silver medal with the ever improving Argentines in third.
Presentations and a B--B-Q wrapped up the event at the Jimmy Powell Oval
Individual Tournament Awards went to:
| Batting | Durriya Shabbir | Canada |
| Bowling | Samantha Ramautar | USA |
| Wicket Keeping | Melissa Sandy | USA |
| Most Valuable Player | Nadia Gundy | USA |
