Although Canada improved marginally upon their batting performance vs Sri Lanka, the home Irish side proved too strong as they coasted to a 77 run victory in Group stage play of the ICC Women's World T20 Qualifier.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Ireland amassed an imposing 146/7 in their 20 overs on the back of Clare Shillington's 61 ball 81 run performance. In reply Canada's Suthershini Sivanantham (14) and Durriya Shabbir (23) were the only Canadian batters to reach double figures as the Canadians struggled to 69 all out in 19.2 overs.
