Kenya beat Canada by six wickets in the first One-Day International of the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Championship at the Global Cricket Academy Oval 1 in Dubai on Monday.

Batting first, Canada posted 227 for eight in its 50 overs. Kenya chased down the target in 47.4 overs to end at 228 for four.

Earlier, Ruvindu Gunasekera (72: 112b, 3x4, 3x6) and Raza-ul-Rehman (70: 83b, 11x4) were the top-scorers in Canada's total.

Elijah Otieno (4-33) was the top wicket-taker for Kenya.

In its reply, Kenya rode on top-scorer Irfan Karim (65: 108b, 5x4) to overhaul the target.

Wicket-keeper Morris Ouma (47) and skipper Collins Obuya (34) were the other key contributors.
