Manny Aulakh 3-11 vs. Vanuatu u19

Canada has defeated Vanuatu in convincing fashion to move to 2-1 at the ICC u19 Cricket World Cup Qualifier in Ireland.

Vanuatu batted first and could not muster much resistance to the Canadian bowling as Manny Aulakh (3-11) led the way for Canada’s bowler.  Captain Keasavan Juvarajan (3-49), Rayyan Pathan (1-21), Nitish Kumar (1-34), and Nikhil Dutta (1-16), chipped in with wickets as only 3 Vanuatu batsmen reached double figures. Vanuatu’s total was helped by 35 extras bowled by the Canadians in the field.

It was then left to Canada opener Nitish Kumar to continue his good form with the bat. Kumar made a brisk 48-ball 61 with seven boundaries and two sixes to help Canada overhaul the target in just 25.3 overs.

Kumar was yet again named the Man of the Match and was happy with the effort. “This pitch was flatter than the previous one. There was a bit of turn, but overall it came on to the bat very nicely. All credit to our bowlers for their spells. This win is a big boost to the team. We are now back on track. Everyone’s positive about it and the mood is great in the camp.

Canada has a game of massive importance tomorrow against Namibia.
